Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) of New Zealand issued the Radio Communications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Short Range Devices) Notice 2022, which will take effect on August 1, 2022. However, radio transmission equipment that has been approved according to the Notice 2020 before August 1, 2022 is still deemed to meet the requirements of the new version.
The announcement has several important changes:
-For the frequency band 5150-5350MHz, the requirements of Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) and Transmission Power Control (TPC) are limited to the frequency band 5250-5350MHz.
-Special conditions for low-power and very low-power equipment operating in the 5925-6425 MHz frequency band have been added.-In "Special Condition 22", the frequency range is extended from 57-66 GHz to 57-71 GHz. This requirement now extends the scope of application and is no longer only applicable to indoor systems.
