The Australia/New Zealand Joint Technical Committee has developed a new national standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2012 Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment - Part 1: Safety Requirements. This standard was issued at the end of June 2022 and is based on IEC 62368-1:2018 (ED.3.0).


The new standard is applicable to the safety requirements for commercial and office equipment of audio, video, information and communication technology with rated voltage not exceeding 600V.


AS/NZS 62368.1:2012 will officially replace the old standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 on June 24, 2025.


Before the old standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 is completely invalid, the new version and the old version of the compliance certificate can be used at the same time. If the certificate uses the old standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2018, there is no need to update the certificate now.
