On October 14, 2022, Brazil ANATEL issued a new Act No. 13423 to extend the implementation time of Act No. 5159, that is, it will be implemented after October 20, 2023. Previously, Act No. 5159 was originally scheduled to be implemented on October 26, 2022, which established new test requirements for mobile phone chargers.


Because of the extension, between October 26, 2022 and October 20, 2023, charger manufacturers can choose between the approval requirements Act 3481/2019 (old Act) or the approval requirements of Act 5159/2022 (New Act).
