Saudi Arabia SASO delays updating the IECEE certified product range

Latest news: SASO Saudi Arabia standards organization will update the IECEE approved product catalogue  

As we mentioned in the above article, the Saudi Arabian organization for standards, metrology and quality (SASO) will update the catalogue of IECEE certification scope on September 1, 2021. However, according to the latest notice of the Saudi Arabian government, in order to control the production of high-risk products, protect the domestic market from the impact of low-quality equipment or counterfeit products, and ensure that imported products meet the standards, manufacturers and suppliers of the following types of IECEE and IECEx products are required to enter the KSA market with a national recognition certificate, which takes effect on November 1, 2021.

This means that the update of IECEE approved product catalogue will also be postponed to November 1, 2021. Products implementing IECEE electrician certification include:  

- circuit breaker  

- mobile phone charger cable  

-  electric shaver  

- desktop computer  

Products with IECEx explosion  proof certification  include:  

- junction box with cable connection point (wire crossing point)  

- control box with cable connection point Gas sensors and detectors  

-  gas detection system  

- electrical plugs and other connecting devices  

- electric pump  

- linear (fixed) lighting
