Reminder: Singapore will update the safety standards for controlled goods

Recently, the Singapore Office of consumer product safety (CPSO) reported changes to the safety standards for high-risk controlled products, which will take effect on July 13, 2022. Enterprise Singapore regulates that household appliances, electronic and gas appliances and accessories must comply with the requirements of the consumer protection (safety requirements) Ordinance (CPSR). According to CPSR, there are 33 categories of household appliances, electronic and gas appliances and accessories. They are divided into three groups:
- Low risk controlled goods
- Medium cargo control risk
- High risk controlled goods
All controlled goods must pass the conformity assessment procedure meeting specific safety standards before entering the Singapore market.
From July 13, 2022, the following high-risk controlled goods adopt the applicable minimum safety standards:
