Malaysian government puts forward new requirements for IT / network applications

SIRIM QAS international announces new requirements for implementing IT / network applications. According to the announcement (Reference No.: sqasi / CMCs / 1 / 21 / 0015), IT / network applications submitted from August 1, 2021 must meet the following two requirements:  

- The validity period of the approval application is one year from the date when the document number is generated;  

- Applications for certificate of approval (COA) can only be submitted within the validity period. After the expiration of the validity period, the application cannot be submitted in the system.  

According to the requirements of MCMC MTSFB TC T014:2017 and MCMC MTSFB TC T013:2019, active indoor antennas for digital terrestrial television (DTT) and internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) need to obtain compliance approval or special approval to enter the Malaysian market. Therefore, manufacturers who need to put relevant products into the Malaysian market should make relevant preparations in advance.
