IFT (Mexican federal Telecommunications Association) revised the technical regulations in IFT-011-2017: Part 2 of the technical specifications of mobile terminal equipment that can use radio wave spectrum or connect to telecommunication network, including mobile terminal equipment operating in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 1700 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2500 MHz frequency bands.

According to the amendment, when the device supports the 4G technical standard at least and includes all components that automatically suggest voice calls through the volte function, these functions must be enabled and activated for the user.

On February 12, 2021, IFT issued the amendment to part 2 of the technical standard IFT-011-2017 - volte, which puts forward relevant requirements for volte functions and related test methods, and has come into force in mid August 2021. Please note that the compliance certificate issued before the amendment takes effect will remain valid until the end of the validity period and will not be regulated by the amendment. If all components of the equipment cannot automatically establish voice calls in any working frequency band designated for mobile services through volte function, obvious marks or labels must be used on the body, packaging, user manual, electronic label and customs documents to explain the situation.
