Malaysia notifies the product must provide a marketing name

SIRIM QAS international of Malaysia stressed that the product marketing name should be indicated in the type approval application to facilitate customers and regulators to verify the certificate status through the "check your label" (CYL) mobile app.

If the product does not have a marketing name, in this case, the applicant shall fill the specific model name of the product in the column of marketing name information of E-COMM system.

SIRIM pointed out that if the product information needs to be kept confidential, the certificate holder can require that the information not be published in E-COMM before the product is launched.

In addition, it should be noted that if the product has been verified, but the certificate does not contain information about the marketing name, you can apply for addition later, but you need to pay an additional material verification fee.

Also, if a product is to be marketed under different marketing names, the applicant needs to submit several marketing name declaration forms. In this case, the marketing name must meet the other specific requirements listed by SIRIM QAS international in the declaration form.
