India announces delayed implementation of revised IS 1293: 2019

On October 25, 2021, BIS announced that it would delay the implementation of the revised standard IS 1293: 2019 (plugs and socket outlets for household and similar purposes of rated voltage up to and including 250 V and rated current up to and including 16 A),

Now the standards IS 1293: 2005 and IS 1293: 2019 can still coexist until the deadline of October 23, 2022.
